BASTARD - Controlled in the frame 7"

Classic Japan Hardcore again. This slab of vinyl was released 1989 by the band. They are not as fast as for example Nightmare,as D Beat as Framtid or distorted as Disclose but have a lot of Power. They remind me a little bit of a current band from Japan named Organism.
The Production and the songwriting (they have solos) shows their ability to play/compose great Hardcore/Punk songs.Has anyone got a copy from me?

TALK IS POISON - Condensed Humanity LP

This discography by Talk is Poison containing all their singles, splits, etc was released 2007 by Prank Records.
File under Hardcorepunk on the crusty side.
The production is noisy which gives the band a lot of power and suits their sound well.
Just like Deathreat these guys are pretty pissed off.
The lyrics deal with suicide, the downfall of mankind due to the polluting of the world, communication in a v2.0 world, the complexity of relationships,etc...dark lyrics for a dark world.

KORO/MECHT MENSCH/TH'INBRED - Singles

After my "New School Excursion" now back to the real deal:

Koro,Mecht Mensch and Th'Inbred are classic bands out of the USA.
They have in common that they all played a very original kind of Hardcore.Sometimes fast, sometimes slow/disharmonic (especially Mecht Mensch-they remind me of Die Kreuzen in a way) but always original and with all kind of great ideas concerning songwriting and melodies.
My favorite here is the Koro Single.Their complete discography (7"+unreleased stuff) was lately rereleased by Sorry State Records on the "Speed Kills" LP.It's a great release with lots of linernotes and a massive interview with one of the bandmembers. The songs are also remastered.
Go find it (or the original...) .
If anyone has special information about these bands post it into the comments.

INDECISION - To live and die in New York City

Indecision were a New School band from New York. They excisted from 1993-2000.
They released a ton of Singles,Split Eps,Compilation Tracks and 4 albums. For their last 2 efforts (this album here and "Release the Cure") they recruited the polarizing Arty Philly from Milhouse. Also check out their "Unorthodox" Longplayer. From this release came their lyric:

FOR THOSE I LOVE I WILL SACRIFICE

I really like this band because their lyrics were meaningful and their music matched this perfectly (just like with Chokehold for example).

DRAGBODY - A Diagram for the Avatar

Mix Turmoil, Groundwork, Unbroken, Colasesce, Indecision and all other sort of New School/Noise and you get Dragbody. The band came from Florida in the USA and released a lot of singles and also a full length with Lifeforce Records from Germany.
Powerful Midtempo Hardcore/Metal where the singer screams out his guts and the guitars saw through your ears.

RAMMER - Same 7"

This 7" by this great Trashmetal Band was released by Deranged Records. At first I was a little bit surprised because to my knowledge Deranged is more known for working with bands like Violent Minds,Career Suicide,Haymaker,Fucked Up,etc...
But Rammer also hail from Toronto. So there is the connection.
So here you get 2 songs from the Rammer self titled 7".Ask Rob about the "Cancer" LP.He's still wetting his pants when he talks about this. The CD version of this has the demo tracks as a bonus on it.Get it at Shifty Records.

Deathreat - Consider it War

Beside F Minus,Deadstop or Haymaker Deathreat are one of my favorite Bands of the nearer past.
Deathreat is kind of an "All Star" Band with members from Bands like Tragedy,Severed Head of State,His Hero is Gone,etc...
The LP was recorded in Japan in 2003 and saw the day via Partners in Crime Records.
Expect some harsh and kind of crusty Hardcorepunk with a real brutal singer comparable perhaps to all the Bands listed above or Citizens Arrest maybe from the classic side.
The lyrical content deals for example with the prison system in the U$A in a pretty pissed of way.

MEN IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT WEAPON - Same LP

This week is GERMAN NOISE WEEK from my side.I'm going to post a german release in the Hardcore/Punk/Grindcore genres from monday until friday.

GERMAN NOISE PART I:

Here you have one of my favorite bands out of germany.MISOTPW play slow downtuned sludge/doom who build up a lot of atmosphere in their songs.
The LP was released 2005 by Modus Operandi Records/Vendetta Records from Berlin.
Really heavy in their sound so that works for me.
Doing 7 songs in 60:30 minutes this band is a little bit different compared to my other posts. The artwork of the LP (awesome cardbox which opens in 4 ways with thick printing, the vinyl colour is brown-really arty and classy) and even the CD is also genius.A lot of work went into this.
Check it out or you will miss out!

KEITZER & REMAINS OF THE DAY - Split 7"

GERMAN NOISE PART II

I really like Keitzer so here you have their first release.Their singer Christian likes to sing about cooking recepies so that a big plus in my book!At that time of recording these songs Keitzer were still a 5 piece including Elvis (a guy REALLY copying his style-at concerts this was pretty funny) on 2nd guitar. They parted ways afterwards.
2 songs from Keitzer, one from ROTD.This thing was released by Yellowdog Records in 2002.

WILBUR COBB & MY OWN LIES - Share this Grave 5"

GERMAN NOISE PART III

2 x Fastcore/Powerviolence from Germany.Wilbur Cobb hail from Koeln,My own Lies from Mannheim.Mix the classics like Crossed Out,Charles Bronson,Drop Dead,Capitalist Casualties,etc...
This is a split release from Flowerviolence Records and Scene Police.I like 5"es!

SNIFFING GLUE - We're Sniffing Glue...fuck you LP

GERMAN NOISE PART IV

These german fellas came out of nowhere in 2007.
This LP is a great release on Play to Destroy and Serarch for Fame Records.Inject a dose of the Dead Kennedys into Keith Morris and Greg Grinn and out comes Sniffing Glue.Something like that....
The Preorder version of the LP (limited to 77 copies) has a fantastic artwork:spraypaint cardboard, big poster in A 2 and a small bottle of glue in a bag with a painted description in comic style of how to use the glue to get high.Hilarious!
The Black Flag Rip Off idea is also awesome:

DEAD BEAT- The Innocence of Nihilism 10"

GERMAN NOISE PART V

This 10" was released 1997 by Per Koro Records.
Dead Beat shared members with another great german band called Narsaak.
These bands also released a Split 7" together so thats kind of funny.
Their sound can be described as hard, downtuned, midtempo (most of the time) sort of New School with a metallic/noisy edge.Great artwork also!

BLAST - The Power of Expression

The Blueprint for bands like Kill the Messenger,Annahilation Time,Mike V and the Rats,1134 or The Third Degree. You could also compare them to Black Flag with more of a rock influence.
Blast came from Santa Cruz,California in den good old U$A.
Intricate guitar work and unusal chord melodies makes this a real interesting band in the hardcore genre.

B.G.K. - A dutch Feast...The complete Works

B.G.K. stands for Balthasar Gerards Kommando.Check out Wikipedia for the meaning of the name, interesting story.
B.G.K. came from holland and began making music in probably 1983. The band paved the way for european Hardcorepunk. There were not that many european bands beside for example Inferno or Lärm which played this kind of music with such power.
Alternative Tentacles did this reissue at the end of the last century."Essential" as a description is the word which come to my mind concerning this release.
The band was punk in its purest form. The members took care of other touring bands, released their music via their own "Vögelspin" label, kept the ticket prices for their concerts low and stood for a lot of leftist views.
B.G.K. went over to the USA as the first european band (with the help from the Maximum Rock'n'roll Fanzine) to tour overseas and played all over europe.

CHANNEL 3 - I've got a Gun

Channel 3 waren neben zum Beispiel Agent Orange, den Adolescents,D.O.A.,Youth Brigade,7 Seconds oder Social Distortion wichtige Vertreter des alten US Hardcorepunks (D.O.A. = Kanada).

KILL HOLIDAY - Meant to let you down 7"

ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT - Dead Serious Demo

HARMS WAY - Imprisoned

OUR GANG + ABOMBANATION - Demos

Youth of Today Single anhöre...

UPDATE 11.03.2008: Den New Breed Sampler kriegt ihr beim Am I Mean Blog.

RESOLUTION - 10"

- Demo
- Split 7" mit Undertow
- Seattle Brotherhood 10"
- Beitrag auf der "By all Means" Compilation
