CUT THE SHIT - Harmed and Dangerous LP

The last band outta Boston is a youngtimer compared to the other 2 bands I uploaded.
This LP from Cut the Bullshit is a modern classic in my opinion.
It's out on Gloom Records from the USA.
All the songs on this LP are in the same vain being fast and powerful mixing the 80's trash revival sound with old school hardcore from Boston or NYC.Everything fits together perfectly.
The production is also perfect for this kind of music:sort of trashy from the overall sound but the loudness from guitar, bass, drums and vocals are well adjusted.
There are a lot of backups but they don't sound like a football team.
Like I said above all songs are short, fast and to the point.
The artwork looks great,silver/black is always a nice combination.
The lyrics on the inlay are kind of hard to read but thats just a small remark you can make about this record.
The band was connected to Bones Brigade (the Cut the Shit singer sang there on their first record but moved to CtS fulltime) and The Rites.Check out these bands too.You won't be dissapointed!

UPDATE:
Here's the hidden track from the CD version of the album.
It's a Cover by Deep Wound, yeah.Thx to Essigyouth big time!

COUNTDOWN TO OBLIVION - The Death Rattle Demo

Am I Mean part III.Countdown to Oblivion were another "incest" band from Toronto with members from Left for Dead,The Swarm,etc...
Expect pissed fast hardcore with a lot of metal thrown into it.Left for Dead meets Catharsis perhaps.
This is their Demo recorded somewhere sometime around 1999.
The band also released a cool 7" and a Split 7" with the band "They Live" (cool name from a cool movie btw.).

CURSED - I

Cursed is another band in which Chris Colohan screamed out his guts. They hailed from Toronto,Canada.
Former bands in which he sang were Ruination,The Swarm,Left for Dead and Countdown to Oblivion.
He even played drums on the recording of the first Career Suicide single.
I recently saw Cursed in Groningen,Holland on their european tour and they blew me away.Sadly they called it quits because of beeing robbed of 8000 € at the end of the tour. For some members of the band it was even the second time experiencing this so they got really frustrated.Check the Cursed homepage for details.
So here's their first and in my mind best release on Deathwish Records from 2003.
The album was recently rereleased with a nice gatefold sleeve and new coverartwork.
It's somewhow in the The Swarm/Neurosis/Converge vain but less metal/new school and instead faster/sicker.
"Nineteen-Eighty-Four" is such an intense song.I like it a lot!

THE DREAM IS DEAD - Hail the new Pawn LP

Great chaotic and fast hardcore/metal from Indianapolis/Indiana,USA here.

Sound like you mix Turmoil and The Red Chord.

This record was released 2005 on Escape Artist (remember Indecision?!).

What I really like about this record (just like with The Neighbors LP) is that there are explanations to each song on the lyric sheet.

The music has basically nothing to do with Hardcorepunk but the lyrics show that this band has its roots in this genre.

Thanks also to Rob for introducing me to this band!

INSIDE OUT - Rage against the Machine

This is another post for the Pope and Count Yorga from the Am I Mean Blog (and all the other people liking this band).
This here is only 1 track,so it's is just a short post.
It's "Rage against the machine" by Inside Out in a great live version. This band was just awesome. They released only a couple of songs (basically being their single - 4 songs on the 7",6 on the cd version - and a Live Benefit Ep floating around with 6 songs on it) in their existence but broke so much new ground musically. They are also the most covered band in the classic hardcore genre in my mind...
Zach de la Rocha was their singer and in my opinion had one of the best voices in hardcore history.
My Advise:Get everything you can from this classic band!

SOUL SWALLOWER - Same

I wanted to post some other stuff but this came in the way.Somehow the name of the band popped into my head some days ago.
I must have read it somewhere so i searched a little bit and found this little fucker here.Awesome 6 song 7" in my opinion.
Soul Swallower remind me of a less downtuned Mind Eraser or an uglier/dirtier version of Ceremony or Thrash Talk.4 fast and 2 midpaced hard as nails stop and go attacks from this Boston based band.
These songs were recorded in one day and leave no prisoners. You either get hyperspeed blasts or midtempo heavy rockers with occasional dissonant leads (like post my war stuff from the flag) thrown in which also add to the brutal aspect of the music.
The singer screams about being fucked by life, how humanity is raped of its innocence because of the shit peope do to each other and being disgusted by liars and cheaters.
This single was released on Collapse Records in 2005.

SLIME - Live Pankenhallen 21.04.1984

This gem here is a classic live recording of Slime. It's released on Agressive Rock Produktionen. The beginning where the singer screams at the audiance that everyone in this world should be equal whether he/she being black/white/woman/man and to not ruin this concert is so powerful. What a great way to start a concert!
A lot of classics are on this slab of vinyl including A.C.A.B., Legal/Illegal/Scheissegal, Alle gegen alle, Hey Punk, Yankees raus, etc.
The soundquality in general is really good so I don't have regrets posting this. There might be a crack during "Alle gegen alle".I couldn't get it fixed.Cry me a river...
When I was still in school a classmate gave me this LP and I couldn't get into this kind of music. At this time i was basically only listening to Anthrax,Metallica,Sodom,Megadeth and so on.So I gave the LP away. What a shame!I forgot about this LP for a long time but recently found it at Ebay and bought it for 1 €.

V.A.-MAXIMUM SUBJECTIVITY COMPILATION LP

Since Kgben wanted some stuff by Stagnations End (they have 1 song on this compilation) I thought to put this online now instead of later:

Another release from Flowerviolence Records here.I contacted Ralf if it's okay to get this compilation online. He said he would like it.There are not that many copies left and so it would get some more attention.I don't like all of the bands here but for me getting this LP was worthwhile because of bands like Durango 95,Amen 81,DS 13,Diavolo Rosso or Fear is the Path to the Darkside.
The layout of this compilation is also great.A nice cardboard sleeve and a little book instead of a normal lyric sheet.
So dive a little bit more into the German/Swedish Hardcore scene from the beginning of the new millenium.

FEAR IS THE PATH TO THE DARKSIDE

Here we have the songs from the following releases from Fear Is The Path To The Dark Side:

- "Only the dead have seen the end of War" LP
- The songs from the "This machine runs on Fear" FITPTTDS/Fear my Thoughts Split LP
This band from Mannheim,Germany was some kind of "Allstar" band with future or past members of Diavolo Rosso,Dead Beat,Stack,Catharsis,Walls of Jericho (no joke) and Golden Gorilla.
The band existed from 1998-2003 and beside these songs here released a 7" entitled "Someday this War is going to end" and various compilation tracks (Maximum Subjectivity Comp/The Bloodbath is coming). The music is metallic Hardcore in the His Hero is Gone/Entombed/Dead Beat kind of way.Sort of.
The lyrics were all written and sung in german.
The song "Pathos galore" means pretty much to me.It's a good summary of how you are constantly reminded of the bad things inside yourself but at the same time not giving up to fight these parts.Pretty dramatic huh?!

Only the dead have seen the end of war

FITPTTDS & FMT Split

ABANDON - In reality we suffer

Slow, slower,Abandon. This post is for Rob hahaha.
The Band comes from Gotheborg in Sweden and plays heavy Sudge/Doom comparable to Noothgrush or Corrupted. The overall feeling of the music and especially the lyrics is depressing as fuck.Abandon focuses on the darker/painful side of life and express this very powerful and honest.Don't listen to this when you are in a bad mood.I did this once and this album got me REALLY down. The message from Abandon could be:Life is pain so be prepared.I divided the album in 2 parts:

ABC DIABOLO - Last Intoxication of Senses LP

This here is the first LP from ABC Diabolo from Saarbrücken/Germany.
They sound a bit like Neurosis (Pain of Mind Era) or Septic Death with a blend of Die Kreuzen thrown in.
"Last Intoxication of Senses" was released by Common Cause Records. It comes in a nice Gatefold sleeve.
The overall feeling is pretty crusy. The singer does the high voice/low voice thing. It sounds great! Also a nice distorted bass sound.

MANLIFTINGBANNER - 10"

If everything works out I'm going to see MLB this sunday for their reunion show with Negative Approach in Amsterdam so I updated my Manliftingbanner post and included their complete 10" in honor of them.
ManLiftingBanner from the Netherlands were THE european Harcoreband which fused Hardcore,Punk, communist ideas/ideals and SxE.In the booklet of the 10" there are linernotes to each song by for example Trotsky,Lenin or Rosa Luxenburg.Bands who emurged out of MLB or come from the same angle: Lärm, Seein'Red, Mainstrike, Deadstoolpigeon, Profound, Backdraft, Cold Turkey, Reaching Forward,etc...This band was important for politic european Hardcore in the 1990'ties.

GERIATRIC UNIT - Nuclear Accidents EP

I saw Geriatric Unit 2 times together with Rob on their recent tour and it was AWESOME!
Some members used to play in Heresy ( Steve on drums and Calv/no more dreadlocks on bass as far as I know) so that's a small hint of what to expect musically....
Great music, great people, great memories is what's left to say.
Theses guys must be around 40 years of age now but they rip it up as if the last 20 years didn't happen.
It was so much fun to see these guys and dance in the pit-the energy was unbelievable!
They have 2 releases at the moment (this thing here and the "Half Life Over" LP on Boss Tunage from the UK) and already recorded shit for an upcoming release. They played some of the new tunes live and they are as great/fast as their older stuff.

OLD - FA(S)T - LOUD!

CALIFORNIA LOVE - Reaping the Whirlwind LP

Here's a short one for the pope from the "Am I mean" Blog.California Love unleash some serious whirlwind (get the hint?) of distorted noise/powerviolence.It's hard to understand the singer even when you have the lyric sheet in front of you.Speaking of this the lyrical content is misantrophic as fuck.Especially the song "Wolf feast".It covers the evolution therory in a darwinian kind of way."The weak will die,the strong will survive".You know this shit.I don't know what to think about this one.But perhaps I'm thinking too much here.Make up your own mind.

SLEEPER CELL - Same LP

Sleeper Cell play great fast Hardcore comparable musically speaking to Deathreat. They come from Columbia in the USA.I don't know if they are still active or now defunct.
The music is raw and pissed off.The lyrics cover your basic punk topics like christianity, feeling trapped in work, the war on terror,etc...but I think they are intelligent and to the point.
The music itself is basic Hardcore with some melodies with songs clocking in around 1 1/2 minutes-you can't go wrong with this concept!
The singer sounds original to me,he's pissed but you can pretty much understand his part. There's also some screaming going on by the guitarist.I like that.
The LP came out on Partners in Crime Records in 2005.

HATRED SURGE - Same 7"

After the demo the one man destruction programm from Austin/Texas,USA called Hatred Surge released this self-titled single on 625 records in 2005.
With Hatred Surge it's pretty much like this:Alex records all music (drums, bass, guitars) and even does the vocals.Beside that he gets help on vocal duties from Amy from Despise You and other friends.
What a debut! Here you get 9 songs of fucked up brutal downtuned noise. All songs pretty much last less than a minute. The last song is a cover from Despise You.I was really blown away by this 7"!

IRON LUNG & THE ENDLESS BLOCKADE - Broadcast Negativity LP

2 Livesets from theses awesome bands here. This LP was recently released by Ivan from Macedonia--> www.hellmilitia.com.
I bought my version from Chris from Hardware Records.
The production for both bands is what you expect from a live set: noisy, raw, stripped down. It suits both bands very well.
The Iron Lung songs were aired on the 13.01.2007 on which station i don't know. Many songs also appear as studio versions on their recent Sexless//No Sex LP.
The Endless Blockade played their live set on the 10.01.2006 on KZSU.
It was pretty hard to seperate the The Endless Blockade songs. I hope i tagged them right. If not leave a comment.
One last info: The Iron Lung side runs on 45 rpm,the The Endless Blockade side in 33 rpm. No joke.
For me Iron Lung takes the cake. But decide for yourself.
Pressing info:
- 300 black ink on white paper
- 38 silver ink on transparent plastic
- 6 silver ink on white paper
- 10 silver ink on black plastic//test press covers
- all covers hand-screened//stenciled, black vinyl only

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT - Euro Trash Tour 2003

I think What Happens Next need no introduction.Guys from Spazz,625 Records and Artimus Pyle team up to deliver some serious Trash/Fastcore.This was recorded somewhere in Holland on their Tour through Europe in 2003.
With song titles like "My drug free icon drove school buses through walls of television " and "Is calling yourself straight edge before 21 like being 12 and saying that you're celibate?" you can't go wrong.
Nice release by Flowerviolence Records from Germany.

CITIZENS PATROL - Demo

Citizens Patrol come from Holland and play straightforward Hardcore/Punk like Violent Minds,Wasted Time or Knife Fight.Their singer also sings in Brat Pack (a kind of RKL worship band) and likes to crush beach partys with one of my friends when being drunk.Really nice guys.
Their "Sick Routine" single which followed this demo was released by No Way Records (Direct Control/Government Warning Content) in the USA.
I recommend you to check this band out!

BASTARD - Controlled in the frame 7"

Classic Japan Hardcore again. This slab of vinyl was released 1989 by the band. They are not as fast as for example Nightmare,as D Beat as Framtid or distorted as Disclose but have a lot of Power. They remind me a little bit of a current band from Japan named Organism.
The Production and the songwriting (they have solos) shows their ability to play/compose great Hardcore/Punk songs.Has anyone got a copy from me?
